T visas last up to four years, at which time the person can apply for lawful permanent residence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abuse and VAWA: People who have suffered some form of abuse by a family member may qualify for an Abuse or VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) visa. To apply for this visa, at least one of the following must be true:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A. The abuser is an employee of the US government.<br>B. The abuser is a member of the US military.<br>C. The victim was subjected to assault or cruelty in the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>U VISA: Individuals and minor children may qualify if they were the victim of a severe crime in the US or if they violated US laws.
